Al Hafeez Rice mills are a third generation family owned business. AL-Hafeez rice is a vertically integrated one of the leading processors,millers, suppliers and exporters of the finest quality Pakistani super kernel basmati rice, long grain IRRI-9, IRRI-6, D-98 and Parboiled ricefrom Pakistan. In the 60s the mill was located three kilometers from its present day location and was involved in the trading of rice, lentils, barley, and mustard seeds. From this humble beginning we started to focus on exclusively processing rice in the 80s.

The main processing, at that time, was the de-husking of rice for the local market. As the market and technology advanced; we added on the latest dryers, boilers, separators, Sortex machine, polishers etc, etc. In the late 90’s we initiated parboiled business by constructing a locally fabricated plant. Unfortunately, we felt the local plant was insufficient in productivity and quality. Therefore we reinvested in a foreign made plant (largest in the provinces of Balochistan & Sindh) that allowed us to offer premium parboiled rice at competitive rates.

Rice is one of the oldest cultivatedcrops, first mentioned in history as far back as 2800 BC in China. Rice is a staple crop and forms keyportion of the diet for many of the world’s population, especially thoseliving in Southern and Eastern Asia.

Rice plant requires immense quantitiesof rainfall in the initial days of its plantation, followed by a long and uninterrupted season of hot and dryweather. It is harvested by hand withdelicate care, aged to perfection andthen processed.

The process begins as soon as ricearrives from the fields. Foremost, whole or paddy rice is dehusked by a rubber roll sheller to produce brownrice. The outer tough protective coatingis removed having no effect on the nutritional composition of the grain within the husk.
